WebJul 12, 2015 · Personally I'm using the TrackIR Pro Clip ($35, bit much considering the cheap components involved and flimsiness, but saved the amateur electronics effort of building one from scratch) + Xbox Live 360 camera with a floppy disk layer for filtering IR, which is easy enough to do for a non-techie + Freetrack, for about $45-50 total. WebPersonally, I prefer the trackIR over VR when it comes to DCS, excluding helicopters. But it is essential, so absolutely worth it. And, it’s usually around 150/160 USD, whereas it’ll be twice that minimum for VR, if buying new. On the other topic: Love me some modern fighters, in particular the Tomcat and Warthog.

It takes some tuning in with the camera & responses compared with Track IR & also it's more susceptible to backlighting. Theres nothing better for the money IMHO. Don't forget ED-Tracker as well.
